A native of Israel, Yossi Reshef has established himself as an international performer and teacher. His career, to date, has taken him to many countries around the world where he has received critical acclaim for his artistry. His recent performances have taken him to Britain, Denmark, Israel, Italy, Poland, Croatia and a number of venues in the United States including Los Angeles, Boston, Santa Fe, and Carnegie Hall where he made his debut with the Reshef Ensemble in 1999. Yossi Reshef is winner of numerous prizes and awards including the Zilbermann first prize for the interpretation of Israeli piano music; the second prize in the Rubin Academy Competition; the Apple Hill Playing for Peace Scholarship Award; the Tel Aviv University Dean's Excellency Award, for achievements in music studies; the America-Israel Cultural Foundation excellency scholarship award; the University of Southern California Dean's Scholarship; the John Tesh Scholar; the Adele Marcus Foundation Music Scholarship; and the John Green Endowed Music Scholarship. Reshef has earned his Master of Music degree at the University of Southern California, under the instruction of Prof. N.Krieger and his Bachelor of Music degree, Summa Cum Laude, at the Tel Aviv University, under the instruction of Prof. P.Salzmann. His other teachers include M.Even-Shushan and Prof. J.Zack. As a chamber musician, Reshef collaborates regularly with violist Y.Gotlibovich and cellist J.Gotlibovich, with cellist N.Ruzevic, with the Serenata of Santa Fe Wind Players and with faculty members at the Apple Hill Chamber Music Festival. Reshef is also a faculty member at the Apple Hill Chamber music festival in New Hampshire since 1996, and a professor at the "Upbeat Hvar" International summer school in Croatia since 2001, and has conducted master classes in the U.S. and Europe, focusing on interpretation and practicing methods. |
